Air and Missile Defense Crewmember
Provides mobile, short-range air defense protection against missiles, surveillance drones, and other threats; tracks, identifies and destroys ground and air-based enemy threats; stores, transports, operates and maintains surface-to-air advanced weapons systems including the Stinger, Avenger, and Counter-Rocket, Artillery, and Mortar (C-RAM) systems; performs target engagement evaluations; operates Friend or Foe equipment; loads, fires, and reloads missile and gun systems; establishes and maintains secure communications; reloads and resupplies weapons systems.


Battery Master Gunner
Serves as the Battery Master Gunner for the only Short Range Air Defense (SHORAD) Artillery Battery defending the Korean peninsula; responsible for the creation of test material, documentation, certifications, qualifications, training, and evaluation of 18 Avenger crews; responsible for the health, morale, welfare, discipline, safety, training, and professional growth of 36 Soldiers and four Korean Augmentees; responsible for the readiness, logistics, maintenance, and accountability of all Master Gunner related equipment valued in excess of $1,000,000.


Avenger Squad Leader
Serves as an Avenger Squad Leader for the Army's only Short Range Air Defense (SHORAD) Artillery Battery defending the Korean peninsula, assigned to Echo Battery 6th Battalion; participates in Operation Task Force Defender, providing Security Force Protection as well as short range air defense coverage against threats and unmanned aerial surveillance; trains and evaluates crews on Air and Missile defense certifications; responsible for the health, morale, welfare, discipline, safety, training, and professional growth of five Soldiers; responsible for the accountability and maintenance of three Avenger Weapon Systems valued in excess of $5,000,000.


Air Defense Crew Member
Serves as a Platoon Sergeant for a Counter-Rocket, Artillery, and Mortar (C-RAM) Platoon, assigned to Bravo Battery, 2nd Battalion, 44th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 108th Air Defense Artillery Brigade; responsible for the health, welfare, discipline, safety, training and professional growth of eight NCOs and 20 Soldiers; responsible for ensuring the accountability and maintenance of two Land-Based Phalanx Weapon System (LPWS), an Engagement Operations Center, two Lightweight Counter Mortar Radars (LCMR), and other early warning systems and equipment valued in excess of $30,000,000.


Manportable Air Defense System Crewmember
Serves as a member of a portable Air Defense system missile unit and air defense activity assigned to 5th Battalion, 4th Air Defense Artillery Regiment (5-4 ADAR); integrates with battle management center operations and maintains situational awareness; maintains secure radio and net communications; securely stores, maintains and tests FIM-92A, FIM-92B, and FIM-92C Stinger missiles and associated BCUs; supports M-SHORAD concept of operations; operates Friend or Foe (IFF); resupplies ammunition and prepares and fires MANPADS.


Manportable Air Defense System NCOIC
Exercises fire control of MANPADS; supervises subordinate soldiers; assists in establishing rules of engagement; collects and disseminates intelligence and operations information; updates OPORD, situation maps and overlays; transmits intelligence and grid locations of incoming targets; prepares for and assists in section movement; plans for ammunition storage and resupply; supervises dissemination of early warning information on the manual SHORAD control system (MSCS); supervises electronic counter measures operations.
