21B - Combat Engineer

Team Leader

o volunteered to troubleshoot the unit's Blue Force Tracker system on his down time, brought unit to a 100% readiness level before scheduled STX lanes training

o volunteered for duties outside his primary MOS; his motivation, interest, and attention to detail guaranteed success in all his efforts

o organized and delivered classes on operating the Atlas 10K forklift and the LRT wheel mounted crane on an active airfield

o used his experience to repair radio and restored tractor/trailer communications with the convoy

o served as weapons checks NCO on all crew serve weapons, including five M2 50 caliber machine guns, five 240B's and five 249s

o inspected weapons before and after each mission, a duty one level above his grade/rank

o dedicated himself to training during the day while performing his duties on mid-shift hours to increase his tactical skills

o helped track over 2,500 Route Clearance missions and logged over 250 significant activities as a Battle Staff team member during OEF 2010-2011

o received the US Army Honor Award and was recognized for Honor and Loyalty during Combat Engineer OSUT training

o helped the platoon leadership train and mentor soldiers for future combat deployments

o provided exceptional service while attached to the XX Engineer Company; helped train soldiers on route clearance tactics and procedures

o provided security and killed 2 enemy combatants during the Company FTX

o trained and supervised his Team on demolitions; resulting in his Team being 100% qualified on Engineer Qualification Tables during the Company's demolition range
