MOS 14S Avenger Crewmember Awards

Meritorious service while serving as Squad Leader, Rear Detachment, 1st Battalion, 188th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, Grand Forks, North Dakota, from 12 February 2018 to 13 March 2021. During this period, Staff Sergeant Kevin Miles completed 47 successful engagements of enemy drones, resulting in praise from the 141st Maneuver Enhancement Brigade commander. In addition, he successfully managed the training of 43 14S Avenger Crew members with one hundred percent of the teams passing Gunnery Tables One through Five without loss or damage to equipment. Moreover, he developed and implemented a system of marking Platoon and individual equipment which facilitated easy identification of Basic Issue Items (BII) and other pieces of organizational equipment. Staff Sergeant Miles' commendable performance is in keeping with the finest traditions of military service and reflects great credit upon himself, the 188th Air Defense Artillery Regiment and the United States Army.




Meritorious service while serving as Team Leader, Shooter Battery, 1st Battalion, 188th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, from 12 February 2018 to 21 April 2021. During this period, Staff Sergeant Randall Palmer was assigned as Team 8 Team Leader and replacement Squad Leader in NASAMS Platoon. He distinguished himself by always going above the standard of taking care of the NASAMS sites he was directed to report to. He continues to set the standard for other team leaders and his team members each time he puts on his uniform. Staff Sergeant Palmer is the best example of what a team leader in NASAMS platoon should resemble. He continues to lead by example and stay professional in and out of uniform. Staff Sergeant Palmer's performance is in keeping with the finest traditions of military service and reflects credit upon himself, the 188th Air Defense Artillery Regiment and the United States Army.




SPC Kane's outstanding professionalism and willingness to perform daily tasks kept the Battery motivated and on track. His selfless acts, high morale and devotion to duty allowed the soldiers of Charlie Battery to continue their mission and successfully perform all training to standard. SPC Kane brought forth subject knowledge that was beneficial to the Battery and the Unit during Annual Training. His accomplishments reflect great credit upon Charlie BTRY and the 2-174 ADA.




Corporal Denver went beyond the call of duty when assigned to represent the 4th Infantry Division 1/44 ADA as the top expert in his MOS for briefing visiting foreign dignitaries and high ranking military personnel. His attention to detail and cultural diplomacy while briefing and interacting with high ranking officers from other countries received many accolades and served to broaden and improve relations with our allies.
