MOS 66B Public Health Nurse Awards

Meritorious service while serving as Public Health Nurse, 124th Medical Group, 124th Fighter Wing, Gowen Field, Boise, Idaho, from XXXXXXXX to XXXXXXXX. During this period, as the Public Health manager during the COVID-19 pandemic, Master Sergeant Harris provided comprehensive and productive guidance for Idaho Military Division leadership and over 5,000 Air Force and Army personnel. She provided critical and accurate data for the selection of treatment and isolation protocols and, over a six month period, tracked over 120 positive exposures and positive cases for the Idaho National Guard. In addition, she dedicated over 100 hours to developing a COVID response for her local unit while simultaneously maintaining her normal duties with patient care. Further, Sergeant Harris stood up a team to provide testing for over 130 Idaho Students and Staff members. The notable accomplishments of Master Sergeant Harris reflect credit upon herself, the Idaho National Guard and the United States Army.




For meritorious achievement during the 2013 EMEDS standout in support of the Boy Scout Jamboree at Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia. His outstanding professional skill, knowledge, and leadership aided immeasurably in providing expeditious patient care to over 200 Boy Scouts and DoD recipients. Captain Arnold demonstrated supreme leadership and triage ability and provided excellent care which facilitated a rapid return to duty with minimal delay. The distinguished accomplishments of Captain Arnold reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.




Meritorious service as Public Health Nurse for Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda, MD from XXXXXXX to XXXXXXX. Captain Carol Channing assisted one nurse educator and one public health Nurse in support of 7,700 active duty personnel attached to 22 tenant commands in all aspects of the Health Promotions and Wellness Clinic resources and procedures. Her conduct of 124 face to face tobacco cessation encounters for active duty members produced a 30 percent reduction in tobacco use among individuals quitting tobacco in accordance with DPH guidelines. Captain Channing's extraordinary efforts and accomplishments during this period reflect credit upon herself, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and the United States Army.
