MOS 27B Military Judge Duty Description

Military Judge
Coordinates legal actions with the legal office, Staff Judge Advocate, defense counsel, and commanders; prepares legal documents in support of hearings and courts-martial; appoints panel members and convenes court proceedings in accordance with military law; advises court officers of their duties; evaluates facts and determines what offense was committed; ensures offenders receive all legal protection and rights afforded under the UCMJ; weighs evidence and delivers verdicts; imposes punishment consistent with the offender's grade and offense; advises offenders on their right to appeal; reviews actions to ensure accuracy and timely disposition.
