Signal Information Service NCOIC for the 8th TSC
Serves as the signal information service NCOIC for the 8th Theater Sustainment Command (8th TSC) consisting of 3 subordinate brigades; supervises the installation, maintenance, and operation of all Video Teleconference (VTC) and Audio/Visual (A/V) systems to include Richardson Theater and the Combined Operations and Information Center (COIC); responsible for all echelon's VTC sessions and A/V mission in the 8th TSC and maintains all equipment for the Commanding General, valued in excess of $1,500,000.
Video Teleconference Technician
Serves as a Video Teleconference (VTC) Technician/Coordinator for the 8th Theater Sustainment Command (TSC) consisting of four separate brigades; responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of VTC systems in the 8th TSC Headquarters; coordinates schedules and unscheduled VTCs; ensures VTC calendars are updated; operates and supports all audio/visual (A/V) needs within the command; provides technical guidance and assistance to subordinate commands.
AIT Instructor and Writer
Serves as an Instructor and Writer for MOS 46T Advanced Individual Training (AIT) for Broadcast Operations and Maintenance Department (BOMD) at Defense Information School, Fort George G. Meade, Maryland (FGGM); serves as instructor for Basic Television and Electronic Maintenance Course (BTVEM); trains more than 50 Initial Entry Trainees (IET) students annually; maintains student records; provides individual and remedial instruction; counsels and mentors; enforces academic standards; provides technical input for course development and content; manages lesson plans and examinations covering more than 270 hours of instruction.
MOS 46T - Visual Information Equipment Operator-Maintainer
Major Duties. Installs, operates, maintains and performs unit and higher levels of maintenance on visual information equipment and systems, to include Video Teleconferencing VI equipment, in support of Army, Joint, and Combined operations; maintains forms, records, PLL, special tools and test equipment; performs PMCS on assigned vehicles and generators. Duties for MOS 46T at each skill level are:
MOSC 46T10. Operates and performs maintenance on television receivers, monitors, and cameras; maintains studio accessories such as computer controlled video switchers and audio mixers/consoles, synchronous generators, distribution equipment, and amplifying equipment; operates and maintains motion/still photo imaging equipment, closed circuit systems, visual imagery satellite, microwave, RF transmission and cable distribution systems associated with VI operations; operates and maintains VI equipment used for Battlefield Video Teleconferencing and in a Video Teleconferencing facility; operates and performs PMCS on assigned vehicles and power generators.
MOSC 46T20. Provides technical guidance on complex operations and maintenance tasks; adjusts and maintains TV and radio equipment to prescribed standards; ensures that proper techniques and procedures are used to diagnose malfunctions of VI and associated equipment; supervises receipt, storage, and issue of VI supplies.
MOSC 46T30. Prepares work schedules and assigns tasks based on requirements; plans technical aspects to satisfy on-air maintenance requirements; develops and advises Commanders on TV broadcasting and VI production engineering requirements; establishes and applies quality control measures for TV broadcasting and VI productions; serves as team leader on VI/Audio equipment repair teams.
