MOS 91K Armament Repairer Duty Descriptions

(formerly MOS 45K)

91K3O Armament Maintenance Supervisor
Armament Maintenance Supervisor for a Brigade Support Battalion Maintenance Company within the 138th FiB and 103rd BSB. Serves as a squad leader and was responsible for the training, mentorship, counseling, health, and welfare of eleven Soldiers; directly responsible for organizational and direct support maintenance for the Brigade; planned and organized work schedules; assigned workloads; responsible for the disposition, evacuation and transportation of all equipment accountability and inventory of over $966,645.45 worth of equipment.


91K30 Armament Repairer
Performs duties in preceding skill levels, performs small arms/artillery repairer. Supervises lower grade soldiers, and provides technical guidance to the soldiers in the accomplishment of their duties. Inspects and trouble shoots fire control systems components, towed fired artillery control systems, self propelled artillery fire control systems. Performs direct/general support and depot level maintenance/repairs on mechanisms/systems of tank turrets/weapons.


Small Arm/Artilery Repairer
Serves as a Small Arm/Artilery Repairer in the 1-1 BSTB maintenance section. Responsible for the field and sustainment level support maintenance of 4500 woapons which include the M9, M4, M16A4, M249, M240B, M240C, M2, M2A1, M203, M320 and MK19 weapon systems; responsible for the disposition, evacuation and movement of all equipment requiring a higher level of maintenance; responsible for the health, welfare and training of three Soldier; maintained accountability of over $300,000 dollars of small arms repair special tools and equipment.


Armament Shop Foreman (SGT)
Serves as the Armament Shop Foreman(SGT) in X CO, Brigade Support Battalion of the Stryker Brigade Combat Team (SBCT) forward deployed in support of OIF XX-XX; provides Direct Support Maintenance of small arms, fire control and artillery equipment for three Infantry Battalions, one Field Artillery Battalion and one Calvary Squadron; responsible for the professional development, health, safety and training of nine Soldiers; responsible for the serviceability and accountability of four shop sets, four electronic shelters and two generators valued in excess of $120,000.


Section Chief for the Armament Repair Section
Performs duties as Section Chief for the Armament Repair Section of the Stryker Brigade Combat Team(SBCT); supervises the inspection, troubleshooting and maintenance of the Brigade's Small Arms, Artillery, Optical and Fire Control Systems; responsible for training, mentoring and the accountability of XX NCO, XX Soldiers and their families; provides oversite, mentorship and technical guidance to Combat Repair Team Armament Maintainers; accountable for over $X.X million worth of test equipment, vehicles and repair parts.


A 91K is essentially used as all three feeder MOS's. 91K utilizes skills with electrical circuits, soldering, and DSESTS to perform fire control repairs on LRU's as well as replacing components essential to turret control. More commonly the 91K will serve as a 91F working almost exclusively with small arms and any other weapon system that fires a projectile that is 155mm or less. 91K2O serve as Armament shop foreman or a section NCOIC. Any duty title at or above the rank of E-6 will shortly be reclassified as a 91F.
