- INITIAL COUNSELING
- This is your initial counseling as my soldier in the HHC 1-135th AHB Supply Section. I will be outlining my expectations of you while you are under my responsibility. From this point forward I will be your First Line Supervisor.
- Provide Soldier the opportunity to present any issues encountered since his/her arrival to the Section/Unit.
KEY POINTS
- You're a soldier in the HHC. You fall under my section/squad and will report to me during training events, outside of drill, and for any matter affecting our team.
- I expect you to always be busy. Every drill we have a long list of tasks that must get done before we can be released. Helping other sections with time sensitive tasks is acceptable and appreciated. This will help our overall mission as a unit.
- Performing and holding yourself to proper Army customs and courtesies. At all times you will be IAW AR-670-1. If you cannot maintain this standard you will be sent home without pay until corrected.
- You are required to attend all training events. Any request to split a training event must be approved through your chain of command. You are limited to one non-emergency split per FY. You will be provided with a Drill Schedule well in advance of all scheduled training and it is your responsibly to ensure your work/school are not in conflict.
- Unexcused absence or tardiness will NOT be tolerated. If you are expecting to be late to any training event you will call me ahead of time. If being late becomes a pattern, you will be counseled, and expected to stay at the armory.
- As a soldier in HHC, you're responsible for and are held accountable to have a valid CAC card, a valid GOV travel card, a current MOARNG account, drivers license, receiving and maintaining OCIE/clothing, dog tags, receive an Initial and Quarterly counseling, Admin review completed, acknowledging that you have received the newsletter, completing all training requirements during training events, reaching out to your section SGT a minimum of 7 days before a training event, knowing our leadership from Section, Company, and Battalion, and ensuring you have the appropriate contact information for our Company. Understand SHARP/EO process and the POC. Failure to do so will result in a negative comment on your quarterly review.
- If you are failing HW/WT and or PT you're required to receive a counseling from me on the failure and every failure afterwards. I will help you on your physical fitness. If the remedial PT is required you will attend that with me.
- Soldier 24/7- No matter what you are doing or where you are, you are always a soldier on and off duty. You not only represent yourself, but you also represent HHC, 1-135th AHB and also the Missouri Army National Guard. Act accordingly when you are on and off the installation because you never know who may be watching.
- Initiative: Do not sit around and wait to be told what you have to accomplish each day. Ask questions, be inquisitive, have a list of things to do in the absence of your leaders.
- When an e-mail or text message is sent, please respond. To confirm or ask a question. We understand you can't always have your phone or computer with you, but whenever you do read it, please send the reply then (EXAMPLE: Roger got it).
- Personal Issues: Any personal or family issues that arise, make sure to inform your Chain of Command/Unit personnel so that you can get whatever support you may need. Do not be afraid to approach someone with any concerns you may have. We cannot help a problem if we don't know the problem exists.
- Drug and alcohol abuse/misuse will be met with UCMJ actions. If you have a problem with drugs or alcohol, help is available if you let your chain of command help you. A failed urinalysis is not a request for help and will result in the maximum punishment allowed under the UCMJ.
- You will be required to give one class at least once a quarter regarding supply operations/processes. (Guidance will be provided ahead of time)
- I expect you to step up and lead if I'm unavailable. Do you have any questions for me?
