Monthly Counseling, Leader

Discussion Points:

o Physical Fitness:
Your physical aptitude is one of the biggest indicators of motivation that your Soldiers and senior leaders will see when you come into work every day. When you show up for PT, bring your A-game and motivate your peers to the fullest, even if you are not feeling 100% motivated. Dedicate personal time to improving your physical readiness and assist others who may need guidance. Help create personal PT and diet plans when necessary to foster improvement across the team.

o Leading and Developing:
Develop classes and a plan to train Soldiers within the squad throughout the coming months. Use the training calendar to plan when you can give classes and determine which topics are most relevant. I will do my part by teaching classes when time permits, both for the Soldiers and Fire Team Leaders. Your leadership in this area is key to the squadā s overall readiness.

o Training Detail Performance:
Your hard work and professionalism during the recent training detail with the Special Forces Soldier did not go unnoticed. You displayed exceptional discipline, adaptability, and motivation throughout the assignment. Your willingness to learn and take initiative reflected well on both yourself and the squad. Continue applying that same level of focus and dedication to all future training events.

o Family and Religious Services:
Ensure Soldiers within the squad understand and know the resources that the Army provides. Give them information on the services available through the Chaplain and other support agencies. Encourage them to use these resources as needed to maintain their well-being.

o Education and Military Schools:
Brief Soldiers on the benefits of Tuition Assistance and how they can apply for and attend college. Ensure they are given adequate time to complete coursework and have them keep you informed of their progress. Encourage attendance at military schools such as Air Assault, Ranger, Expert Infantryman Badge, and Mountain Athlete Warrior. These opportunities enhance their promotion potential and career development.

o Health and Welfare:
Maintain discipline and accountability at all times. Conduct spot checks to ensure Soldiers maintain proper standards for appearance, cleanliness, and uniform. Military discipline is paramount to the success of our squad and platoon, and we will not allow complacency to hinder performance.

o SHARP/EO:
Brief Soldiers on the importance of the SHARP and EO programs. If additional information is needed, refer to AR 600-20 (Army Command Policy) or speak with the company EO or SHARP representatives. These programs are essential to maintaining a professional and respectful work environment.

o Customs and Courtesies:
Ensure Soldiers are knowledgeable on Customs and Courtesies outlined in AR 600-25. We will not have any issues within our squad regarding respect toward Noncommissioned Officers and Officers both inside and outside of the unit. Lead by example in this area at all times.

o Corrective Training/Counseling:
We will conduct corrective training and counseling when necessary, in accordance with Army regulations and policies. Always maintain professionalism and tact when counseling or correcting Soldiers. Corrections should be handled in private when possible and should aim to improve performance rather than punish.

Plan of Action:

Continue to improve and maintain high physical readiness.

Develop and teach at least one class this month using the unit training calendar.

Continue demonstrating professionalism and work ethic during all training events.

Encourage Soldiers to pursue education and military training opportunities.

Conduct monthly SHARP/EO briefings within the squad.

Maintain military bearing and discipline at all times.
