Quarterly Counseling MAR - MAY

To discuss your quarterly performance over the course of TLX, LTHX, CLFX, CALFX, and IVYMASS through the dates of: 01 March - 01 June 2026 and expectations until we depart for NTC.

Key Points: I am counseling you to recognize an exemplary performance during TLX, Lethal Range, CLFX, CALFX, and IVY-MASS.

> Team Live Fire: You showed proficiency in shooting, moving, and communicating while under stressful situations. Your abilities directly contributed to the success and validation of our team overall. We met our objective as a team and we were able provide an asset to our squad. You and your other teammates set a great example for what is expected from a team and what our leadership expects from the Company.

> Lethal Range: Qualifying on your weapon system with proficiency demonstrates your skill in Positive Identification of targets, Trigger Discipline, and Safety Manipulation while under pressure.

> Company Live Fire: You showed excellent skill through tactical awareness across a complex terrain, ensuring and maintaining 360 degree security, and keeping sectors of fire, enabling us to achieve fire superiority through rates of fire. You ensured you had your equipment and held additional equipment when asked without complaints, shared water, and provided additional care such as hydration, cold weather gear, etc.

> Combined Arms Live Fire: This is where our mission got a bit smaller in the overall scheme of things considering we are dismounted infantry. Despite many cold nights, short rest cycles, low resources and the indisputable communications issues due to the new MPU5 radios, we persevered, thanks to your ability to adapt and overcome those adversities. Echoing and using proper hand and arm signals, proper individual movement techniques, entering and clearing a trench, while providing fire superiority for the assaulting element. We sustained no casualties, our time on target was optimal despite issues with communications and low visibility at night.

To improve, we need more time on 240 emplacement to ensure we are hitting our Time On Objective properly, setting in those guns to ensure we are set and ready to call up to Bravo Team to move up and accomplish their task so we can place that additional security. Our efficiency with round count can improve. Leaders above me need to know how much fight we have left after taking contact or taking an objective.

> IVY-MASS: You were a valuable asset to the team. Despite our platoon taking some cold casualties, you gave up your own ECWCS layer(s) to another teammate to help them push onward to the next objective. Our mission was smaller than last time, but that didn't prevent you from pushing yourself and others along the way to meet our commander's intent. We successfully, attacked and defended positions with your lethality, competence, tactical awareness, personal courage and individual soldier discipline. The training that led up to that moment put into perspective and validated the importance of team, squad and platoon proficiency, lethality and overall morale. You stepped up and filled the roles that were asked of you.

You've demonstrated:

> Flawless communication to enable smooth and efficient control throughout the lane(s).
> Moving with a sense of purpose between cover and concealment using the proper terrain.
> Muzzle awareness while moving and under high stress keeping the weapon system oriented down range, keeping from committing fratricide.
> The understanding and proficiency with executing proper rates of fire.
> Equipment retain ability gave us accurate Green 2s.
> Anticipation of upcoming commands kept up our tempo.
> Willingness to train on new equipment such as "Black Hornets" and assisted with the MPU5 radios and EUDs.
> Proper priorities of work and what it looks like through repetition and importance of Soldier readiness.
> Understanding the importance of PCCs/PCIs.

I want you to remember this in the upcoming event at the National Training Center: PCC6 (Project Convergence Capstone 6). The terrain is very different and difficult. The effort you've shown here in our Field Training is something I want to see flourish at NTC. This is what people call our Super Bowl. Everything you have done here and the proficiencies, will show out in NTC. Keep up the good work.

Plan of Action: My plan is, while we have down time in between pack out for NTC, we are going to conduct more hands-on training and rehearsals through battle drills:

> Battle Drill 1: React To Contact.

> Battle Drill 2A: Squad Attack.

> Battle Drill 4: React to Near Ambush.

> Battle Drill 6: Enter and Clear A Room.

> Battle Drill 7: Trench - Enter and Secure A Foothold.

Through these battle drills, we will hone our skills and sharpen our minds through the month of June. I may put you in a leadership role to see how you've maintained your knowledge and how you adapt to new situations with different types of leadership.

I expect you, as an experienced NCO, to put in 100% effort and dedication to keeping our team not just cohesive but lethal. You have stepped up and taken lots of responsibility and you have a great reputation. I want you to prove yourself as useful and valuable in garrison as you are in the field. You being prior service is more of an asset than you might realize. We can use your experience to sharpen and hone our skills as a team. You have great leadership potential and I hope to see you step up and fill leadership roles as needed.

Leadership Responsibilities: I will provide SM with the time and materials to aid them in their improvements.

I will assist the SM with any questions they have on their duties and/or roles.

I will evaluate, train, and mentor the SM in areas in which he needs it most.
