MEMORANDUM FOR: President, Federal Recognition Board / Army National Guard Officer Candidate School
SUBJECT: Letter of Recommendation for Domonic Hurtado
I am pleased to recommend Domonic Hurtado for appointment as an officer in the Army National Guard and for participation in the Officer Candidate School program.
I have known Mr. Hurtado for [X years/months] in my capacity as [relationship/context]. Based on my experience with him, I have come to know him as a person of strong character, sound judgment, and demonstrated leadership ability.
In my interactions with Mr. Hurtado, I have consistently observed [specific leadership quality]. For example, [specific example]. This demonstrated his ability to [judgment/initiative/accountability/leadership outcome].
Another quality that distinguishes Mr. Hurtado is [second quality]. [Specific example demonstrating this quality.] His ability to [communicate/influence/build trust/lead through ambiguity] is particularly notable.
Mr. Hurtado's civilian career also reflects the characteristics I associate with successful military officers. In his role as Senior Director of Business Engagement at 47G, he works across Utah's aerospace and defense ecosystem, building relationships with organizations ranging from major defense primes to small and medium-sized businesses. He routinely operates across industry, government, and defense stakeholders and is trusted to represent his organization with senior leaders.
In my judgment, these experiences have prepared Mr. Hurtado to succeed in an environment that requires leadership, accountability, discretion, adaptability, and service to a mission larger than oneself. I believe he has the maturity and character to accept the responsibilities associated with a commission and the potential to develop into an effective Army officer.
I recommend Domonic Hurtado without reservation for appointment as an officer in the Army National Guard and for Officer Candidate School.
