Nebraska National Guard Awards

Nebraska Legion of Merit. The Nebraska Legion of Merit is awarded to senior members of the Nebraska National Guard for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding service to the state or unit and its members.

Nebraska Meritorious Service Medal. The Nebraska Meritorious Service Medal is awarded to senior members of the Nebraska Army National Guard who have distinguished themselves by heroism, meritorious service, or outstanding achievement.

Nebraska Commendation Medal. The Nebraska Commendation Medal may be awarded to any Soldier who has distinguished him- or herself by meritorious service or outstanding achievement.

Nebraska Individual Achievement Medal. The Nebraska Individual Achievement Medal is awarded to any member of the Nebraska Army National Guard who has distinguished him- or herself by meritorious service or outstanding achievement.

Nebraska Homeland Defense Service Ribbon. The Nebraska Homeland Defense Service Ribbon is authorized for wear by Nebraska National Guard members who participated in military operations in defense of the United States or its interests.

Nebraska Emergency Service Medal. The Nebraska Emergency Service Medal is authorized for members of the Nebraska Army National Guard who were ordered to active Duty to support or conduct emergency operations in response to civil unrest or natural disaters.

Nebraska Service Medal. The Nebraska Service Medal recognizes service performed by members of the National guard and Reserve components and is awarded for periods of honorable service.
