Unit Armorer Duty Descriptions

11B1P Unit Armorer
Serves as Unit Armorer for an Airborne Infantry company supporting over 100 Soldiers; coordinates with leadership to ensure support for deployment and redeployment operations; responsible for the physical security of the arms room, and accountability and maintenance of over $5,000,000 worth of MTOE and weapons; instructs Soldiers on user-level proper care and maintenance of all assigned small-arms; maintains hand-receipts for equipment issued locally and while deployed; calibrates, zeros, and performs user maintenance of small-arms; identifies failures and arranges and coordinates higher-level maintenance when needed.




Unit Armorer
Serves as Unit Armorer for a field artillery battalion supporting over 200 Soldiers; coordinates with leadership to ensure support for deployment and redeployment operations; responsible for the accountability and maintenance of over $1 million worth of MTOE and weapons; instructs Soldiers on proper care and maintenance of all assigned small-arms; maintains hand-receipts for equipment issued locally and while deployed; calibrates, zeros, and performs user maintenance of small-arms; identifies failures and arranges higher level maintenance.




Arms Room NCOIC
Served as an Arms Room NCOIC in a field artillery battery assigned a non-standard mission in support of a deployed light infanty brigade combat team serving in Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) XI-XII; support over 60 Soldiers; responsible for the health, morale and welfare and supervision of one Soldier; responsible for ensuring his Soldier is proficient in skill level one tasks; coordinates the battery's deployment and redeployment operations and is responsible for the accountability and maintenance of over $3 million worth of MTOE and TPE equipment.




Arms Room NCOIC
Served as an Arms Room NCOIC in a Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 2nd Squadron, 11th Armoured Cavalry Regiment, at the National Training Center (NTC) with the dual mission of Army doctrinal and Opposing Force training; support over 380 Soldiers seven rotations; responsible for the health, morale and welfare and supervision of one Soldier; responsible for ensuring his Soldiers are proficient in skill level one tasks; responsible for the accountability and maintenance of 1367 sensitive items, totaling more then 11.5 million dollars.
