17E3O Electronic Warfare (EW) Sergeant
Serves as the Senior Electronic Warfare Specialist in a Cavalry SQDN comprised of 4 troops, 1 FSC with an assigned strength of 464 Soldiers; responsible for all EW training, intelligence preparation of the battlefield, planning and execution of all operations of army EW ground and air assets; coordinates with higher elements for Air electronic Attack, Electronic Protection, and Electronic Support; responsible for the EW element of the MDMP; de-conflicts the electromagnetic spectrum with the communications section; implements and maintains SPOs; maintains readiness of equipment valued in excess of $1.5 million; responsible for the health, welfare, and training of 2 NCOs and 3 Soldiers.


17E5P Brigade EW NCOIC (82nd ABN DIV)
Responsible for the health, morale, welfare, and training of X subordinate NCO; responsible for all EW administrative, training, and operational matters; assists with integration of cyberspace electromagnetic operations; planning, allocation, and execution of operations involving Army EW air and ground platforms; coordinates with higher for Airborne Electronic Attack (AEA) support; responsible for the EW element of the MDMP and the orders production process; establishes, oversees and monitors all echelon EW training; develops tactical level guidance from strategic guidance pushed down from higher; primary enlisted advisor to the Commander with regards to EW.


17E20 Battalion Electronic Warfare Specialist
Serves as an Electronic Warfare Specialist for the 1st Battalion, 41st Field Artillery, 3rd Infantry Division, Division Artillery; Responsible for all EW training, intelligence preparation of the battlefield, planning and execution of all operations of Army EW ground and air assets; the coordination with higher elements for Air Electronic Attack, Electronic Protection, and Electronic Support; responsible for the EW element of the MDMP; responsible for the de-confliction of the electromagnetic spectrum with the communications section; implementation and upkeep of SOPs.


Electronic Warfare Specialist
Supervises the operation and maintenance of 42 Counter Radio Controlled IED Electronic Warfare (CREW) Systems utilizing test equipment and computer systems with a total value of over $1.75million; oversees proper PMCS and training on CREW Systems throughout HHT RTS; ensures all devices are updated with current firmware and threat loads as updates are released; reviews and remains current on intelligence reports relating to the CREW/C-IED mission.


Electronic Warfare (EW) NCOIC
Serves as the senior Electronic Warfare (EW) NCOIC for the 1/25th Stryker Brigade Combat Team (SBCT), with a worldwide mission to deploy in support of strategic, operational, and tactical level operations; prepares and coordinates the Cyber Electromagnetic Activities (CEMA) appendix to the brigade operations order; provides technical advice and assistance to the S2, S3, and S6 with the integration, synchronization and deconfliction of electronic attack (EA), electronic protection (EP) and electronic warfare support (ES) into the maneuver commander's concept of operation; plans and directs all EW training for 7 Battalions with 12 EW Sergeants (EWS).


EW advisor to Brigade Commander/Brigade-level Staff NCO
Recommended and requested both Electronic Warfare assets and countermeasures to ensure missions success. Directed unit-level training and provided technical advice and assistance to Commanders and personnel to insure proper use of Electronic Warfare systems in both combat and training environments. Responsible for overseeing the preventative and corrective maintenance program, which included the supervision of system maintenance performed by junior technicians as well as maintaining all associated schedules, records, and publications.


17E3S Battalion Electronic Warfare NCOIC (MISO Group)
Responsible for the health, morale, welfare, and training of X subordinate Electronic Warfare NCOs; responsible for the integration of Electronic Warfare into Military Information Support Operations; responsible for the dissemination of the Common Operating Picture and EW information; prepares and coordinates the EW Appendix to the Operations Order; directs unit training and provides technical advice and assistance to commanders; coordinates planning for enduring missions and training throughout three different Combatant Commands.


17E20 Battalion Electronic Warfare NCO
Assigned as the Battalion liaison for training and maintenance for Counter Radio-Controlled-Improvised-Explosive-Device Electronic Warfare (CREW) equipment; supervises Company-level CREW operations and trains IK ASI Soldiers; responsible for the integration of new EW equipment and making recommendations to battalion leadership; NCO maintains various EW equipment and conducts training at the Battalion level; coordinates air EW support and other non-organic EW assets.





MOS 17E - Electronic Warfare Specialist, CMF 17 (Eff 202210)

Major duties. Electronic Warfare Specialists are subject matter experts in the manipulation, control, and dominance of the electromagnetic spectrum. They advise and assist the commander or command Electronic Warfare Officer (EWO), as applicable, to defeat the enemy through planning, coordination, integration, and execution of Electronic Attack (EA). They protect and harden friendly systems, processes, and personnel by developing, training, and executing Electronic Protection (EP). They support current and future operations by planning and performing Electronic Warfare Support (ES). They plan for and coordinate the integration of electronic warfare into military operations through every step of the military descision making process (MDMP). Duties for MOS 17E at each skill level are:

MOSC 17E1O. Operates and maintains electronic warfare (EW) equipment to include Special Purpose Electronic Attack (SPEA) systems, Direction Finding (DF) systems, modeling and simulation tools, EW test equipment, and counter radio-controlled improvised explosive device electronic warfare (CREW) systems; evaluates technical electronic intelligence data for force engagement operations in a joint service network; assists in generating Enemy Electronic Order of Battle and EW threat briefs and maintaining the common operating picture; assists in preparing and evaluating interference reports and EA requests; operates and performs operator PMCS on EW system equipped vehicles and system prime power units; conducts EA in support of ground maneuver, tactical deception, or in support of information operations; conducts ES in support of an information collection plan to answer PIR, provide early warning to ground maneuver units, or to assist in the assessment of unit EP measures; conducts EP activities to harden communications against intentional or unintentional electromagnetic interference, minimize emission signature of friendly unit communication and non-communication emitters, and avoid spectrum interference by adjacent units.

MOSC 17E2O. Performs and supervises duties shown in preceding skill level as an Electronic Warfare Team Chief or Battalion to Brigade level Staff NCO; responsible for the execution and coordination of cyber electromagnetic operations to include EA, EP, and ES activities; operates test measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE); maintains and troubleshoots assigned equipment; resolves interoperability issues at unit level; prepares and maintains EW running estimates; assists company CREW specialists to ensure an effective CREW electronic counter measure (ECM) force protection (FP) program.

MOSC 17E3O. Performs duties shown in preceding skill level; serves as Electronic Warfare Platoon Senior Team Chief or Brigade Combat Team Staff NCO; demonstrates proficiency in orders process, Military Decision Making Process (MDMP), and the targeting process; manages employment of EW air and ground systems; reviews, processes, and forwards effects packets to higher; ensures timely dissemination of information to and from higher headquarters; identifies risks, vulnerabilities, courses of action and potential countermeasures; understands the cyberspace domain and coordinates EW actions and effects with offensive and defensive cyberspace operations.

MOSC 17E4O. Performs duties shown in preceding skill level; serves as Electronic Warfare Platoon Sergeant or as staff NCO at echelons above Brigade; acts as primary planner of Cyberspace Electromagnetic Activities (CEMA) for CEMA section at echelons Division and above; ensures support to subordinate units; manages equipment and resource issues with and between higher, adjacent, and subordinate units; prioritizes allocation of Army EW air and ground assets; reviews and processes effects packets; coordinates integration and execution of cyberspace joint EW operations.

MOSC 17E5O. Performs duties shown in preceding skill level; serves as Company 1SG or Brigade or higher staff NCO; serves as primary enlisted EW advisor of the EW element at the Brigade or Division echelon; serves as primary planner of Cyber Electromagnetic Activities (CEMA) for EW Platoon elements with an emphasis on combined operations; prioritizes Army, joint, and multi-national EW assets between adjacent and subordinate commands, as applicable; allocates EW equipment and resources; develops tactical level guidance from strategic guidance pushed down from higher.
