Petroleum Laboratory Sergeant/Specialist
Supervises or conducts laboratory tests on petroleum, oil and lubricant products; evaluates test results with specification requirements and makes recommendations regarding product disposition; receives samples and conducts tests on petroleum products; reports findings in accordance with American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) testing methods; applies fire prevention and safety control procedures in handling volatile products.




Petroleum Laboratory Supervisor
Supervises the receipt and testing of petroleum, oil and lubricant samples; assigns duties, spot checks work quality and instructs subordinates in techniques and procedures; identifies sources and types of contamination or deterioration and makes recommendations for disposition; provides quality surveillance reports to higher headquarters; maintains accountability of and performs preventive maintenance and calibration on laboratory equipment; enforces safety control procedures; maintains an efficient work environment.
