Battle Captain Award Examples

Recognizing the absence of Battle Captain processes during CSTX 91-23-01, CPT Hunt demonstrated remarkable initiative and exceptional leadership by developing and implementing a comprehensive suite of Battle Captain processes for the 359th Theater Tactical Signal Brigade (TTSB). He liaised with support elements' command teams to determine requirements and establish and refine critical procedures, significantly enhancing the unit's command and control capabilities and enabling 359th TTSB to battle track eight communications nodes. His innovative approach not only supported informed decision making at all levels but also created processes that will be memorialized in the newly developed TTSB TACSOP.




OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT WHILE SERVING AS THE CUOPS BATTLE CAPTAIN AND SATCOM COORDINATOR. DURING THIS PERIOD, STAFF SERGEANT TRUDEAU PROVIDED EXCEPTIONAL LEADERSHIP AND SUPPORT TO HIS UNIT AND SOLDIERS AND WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN THE SUCCESSFUL ACCOMPLISHMENT OF TRAINING OBJECTIVES IN A THEATER LEVEL COMMAND FOR A MULTI COMPONENT UNIT. TRAINED AS BATTLE STAFF NCO, HE ALSO DISTINGUISHED HIMSELF BY EXCEPTIONAL PERFORMANCE AS THE CTO, ENSURING ORDERS WERE PROCESSED IN A TIMELY MANNER, AND BY PROVIDEING THEATER WIDE GUIDANCE. IN ADDITION, HE WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN IMPROVING SATCOM COMMUNICATIONS ACROSS THE PACIFIC. STAFF SERGEANT TRUDEAU'S EFFORTS REFLECT DISTINCT CREDIT UPON HIMSELF, THE 311TH HHC, THE 311TH SIGNAL COMMAND (THEATER) AND THE UNITED STATES ARMY.




SSG Smith served as the Battle Staff NCO for Task Force Volcano while on the South West Border Mission in support of Joint Task Force North, the Department of Homeland Security, and the United Stated Border Patrol. He ensured proper reporting procedures were upheld in order to retain resources to meet mission requirements and support the health and welfare for joint service members across the joint operating area. He processed and ensured resolve for serious incidents and significant action reports across the South West Border Mission.




FOR EXCEPTIONALLY MERITORIOUS SERVICE WHILE ASSIGNED AS BATTLE CAPTAIN SUPPORTING DAILY OPERATIONS FROM 20 APRIL 2017 TO 20 SEPTEMBER 2017. DURING THIS PERIOD, STAFF SERGEANT KATHERINE S. FOX CONDUCTED 24 HOUR OPERATIONS AS A BATTLE CAPTAIN DURING HURRICANES HARVEY, IRMA, JOSE, AND MARIA, AND SUPPORTED SOLDIERS AND FAMILIES IN THE CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES, PUERTO RICO AND THE US VIRGIN ISLANDS. HER EFFORTS SUSTAINED CONTINUOUS CURRENT OPERATIONS UPDATES FOR THE UNITED STATES ARMY RESERVE HEADQUARTERS COMMAND STAFF, USARC CRISIS ACTION TEAMS, OFFICE OF THE CHIEF OF THE ARMY RESERVE, FORCES COMMAND, ARMY NORTH, AND THE DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY. STAFF SERGEANT FOX'S UNTIRING PURSUIT OF VITAL INFORMATION FACILITATED THE RAPID RESPONSE OF GEOGRAPHICAL AND FUNCTIONAL COMMANDS TO OVER 30 IMMEDIATE RESPONSE AUTHORITY MISSIONS AND 15 MISSION ASSIGNMENTS. HER UNPARALLELED MISSION SUPPORT REFLECTS GREAT CREDIT UPON HERSELF, THE UNITED STATES ARMY RESERVE COMMAND AND THE UNITED STATES ARMY.




Distinguished himself by exceptionally meritorious achievement as Operation Dispatcher, United States Defender 2020 in Poland from 03 February 2020 to 15 March 2020. Sergeant Gomerach's exceptional ability to positively interact with the highest levels of government in pursuit of mission accomplishment, coupled with his ability to effectively support a complex inter-agency endeavor, enabled him to effectively support the operation of troop movement, safety and security. Through his efforts, he was able to temporarily assume administrative support of an office within the 561st Regional Support Group during a period of increased administrative workload that was critical to the success of the operation Defender 2020. Despite minimal experience with a diplomatic endeavor of this kind, he was able to maintain the office's reputation for efficiency within the Unit. He pursued one goal, to ensure the mission capabilities of the United States Military Forces along with other countries' military forces and his team were provided the necessary level of support under difficult circumstances and succeeded. The distinctive accomplishments of Sergeant Gomerach reflected credit upon himself, the 561st Regional SUpport Group, and the Office of the Secretary of Defense.

THROUGH DILIGENCE AND DETERMINATION, STAFF SERGEANT KEVIN WEYLAN WAS INTEGRAL TO THE SUCCESSFUL OPERATIONS IN THE S3 SECTION. BY PREPARING THE NIGHT STAFF ON BATTLE DRILLS AND BEING AN EFFECTIVE CONDUIT AND DISSEMINATOR OF INFORMATION, STAFF SERGEANT WEYLAN WAS CRITICAL TO THE SUCCESSFUL 24/7 OPERATIONS OF THE 2D MEDICAL BRIGADE. STAFF SERGEANT WEYLAN'S STERLING PERFORMANCE REFLECTS GREAT CREDIT UPON HIMSELF, THE 807TH MEDICAL COMMAND (DEPLOYMENT SUPPORT), THE 2D MEDICAL BRIGADE AND THE UNITED STATES ARMY.
