OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT WHILE SERVING AS SHOWER AND LAUNDRY SPECIALIST, 325th BRIGADE SUPPORT BATTALION, SCHOFIELD BARRACKS, WAHIAWA, HAWAII FROM XXXXXXXX TO XXXXXXXX. DURING THIS PERIOD, SERGEANT RANDALL YOUNG SERVED AS A MEMBER OF THE RIMPAC ADVANCED PARTY CAMP SUPPORT CREW AND USED HIS EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL IN THE SUCCESSFUL MOVEMENT OF OVER 200 PIECES OF EQUIPMENT AND CAMP FACILITY SUPPORT GEAR FROM FLIGHT LINE PEARL HARBOR TO THE MAIN BASE CAMP IN AIELA, HAWAII. IN ADDITION, SERGEANT YOUNG'S FORESIGHT AND PLANNNG RESULTED IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF OVER 30 ALASKAN TENTS AND 4 SHOWER FACILITIES THREE DAYS AHEAD OF SCHEDULE. DUE TO HIS DILIGENCE, THESE FACILITIES WERE ONE HUNDRED PERCENT OPERATIONAL AROUND THE CLOCK, SUPPORTED OVER 320 MILITARY PERSONNEL FROM EIGHT COUNTRIES, AND PROVIDED THE FOUNDTION OF THE SUCCESSFUL EXERCISE. THE CRITICAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF SERGEANT YOUNG REFLECT CREDIT UPON HIMSELF, THE 325th BRIGADE SUPPORT BATTALION AND THE UNITED STATES ARMY.




SPC Kay's outstanding professional skill, knowledge, and leadership aided immeasurably in the overhaul of a maximum security cell block.

SPC Kay was an integral part of Camp Justice and daily operations. He diligently performed over 500 hours of preventive maintenance on six shower and shave units, four latrine units, two laundry tents and 2,000 feet of water pipes.

SPC Kay responded to a 2 inch water line breake at Camp Echo. He quickly isolated and repaired the water leak and restored water servive to the Camp.




Sergeant Lajes directly supervised and coordinated the reconstitution of four shower/shave units and the relocation of one field laundry tent

Established six 100% operational shower/shaves, six field deployable latrines, and two field laundry units in Camp Justice

Maintained six shower/shaves around the clock, supporting over 1,000 Soldiers, with no down time recorded

Served outside his career field as the unit Safety NCO and was instrumental in identifying and correcting numerous safety problems




o his mechanical expertise was evident as he led his team in the expedient repair of a six-inch water main break

o replaced 60 feet of PVC line to restore water and laundry service to temporary billeting quarters in less than 6 hours

o directly supported a tent city buildup consisting of 48 TEMPER tents and 24 shower and latrine units supporting a 500 multinational personnel bed down
