Staff Sergeant Sullivan accepted the challenge of serving as the Baghdad Diplomatic Support Center (BDSC) Distinguished Visitors NCOIC. His attention to detail and ability to quickly adjust has allowed him to take on the responsibilities of an ever changing situation and maintain a high standard of decorum in the execution of his duties. Sergeant Sullivan worked long hours researching, planning, and coordinating with the BDSC Air Field Operations Team to develop an effective and bulletproof Distinguished Visitor system that ensured professionalism and consistency by combining guidelines set by the Department of State and the Department of Defense. Sergeant Sullivan managed every situation faced by the BDSC Commandant Cell consistently while showing deference when and where it was needed to help prevent minor DV flight and schedule conflicts from becoming unrecoverable conflicts.
Flag Aide to the Commander, Joint Task Force Guantanamo, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, from XXXX XXXX to XXXX XXXX in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and the Global War on Terror. Lieutenant Pyle effectively coordinated the Commander's calendar, developed trip itineraries, scheduled meetings and coordinated social events. He was the primary liaison between the Commander and inter-agency partners, staff directorates, and Army Post leadership, as well as high-ranking officers within the Department of Defense, including the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Joint Staff, and United States Southern Command. His professionalism and expert time management skills were essential to prioritizing the Commander's appointments and ensured meetings were pertinent and timely. His exacting attention to detail ensured proper protocol for Distinguished Visitors and dignitaries and had a profound impact on the overall success of conveying the Joint Task Force mission to countless world leaders. A trusted advisor to the Commander, his unmatched dedication and selfless devotion to duty coupled with a tenacious drive for excellence had a positive and lasting impact on this organization.
EXCEPTIONALLY MERITORIOUS ACHIEVEMENT WHILE SERVING AS THE JOINT BASE PROTOCOL OFFICER AND MORALE, WELFARE AND RECREATION SPECIAL EVENTS COORDINATOR WHILE ASSIGNED TO JOINT BASE GARRISON HEADQUARTERS. FIRST LIEUTENANT PYLE'S DEDICATION TO DUTY AND SELFLESS SERVICE IN COORDINATING LOGISTICAL SUPPORT SECURED OPERATIONS FOR 18 DISTINGUISHED VISITOR VISITS AND 16 CEREMONIES. HIS ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND PROFESSIONALISM RESULTED IN THE FLAWLESS EXECUTION OF MULTIPLE INSTALLATION EVENTS ATTENDED BY 2,250 MILITARY MEMBERS AND THEIR DEPENDENTS. THESE EFFORTS CULMINATED IN THE 2018 ARMED FORCES DAY FESTIVAL ENJOYED BY THOUSANDS OF MILITARY AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS. HIS ACTIONS ARE IN KEEPING WITH THE FINEST TRADITIONS OF MILITARY SERVICE AND REFLECT DISTINCT CREDIT UPON HIMSELF, JOINT BASE GARRISON HEADQUARTERS, AND THE UNITED STATES MILITARY.
Her vision and passion for military customs and courtesies implemented a new standard for ceremonies and recognition across the state. A masterful planner with a keen eye for details, she planned and executed dozens of ceremonies during her tenure with the XXXth including a brigade Change of Responsibility, association inductions, retirements, and award presentations. She never let a Soldier leave the organization without proper recognition and her tireless efforts were regularly commended by family members, Soldiers, and leaders alike.
