On 04 June 2025, SFC Montano recognized and responded to potential suicidal ideations expressed by a junior Soldier. SFC Montano properly implemented all steps of the Army ACE training and utilized available resources at his disposal. SFC Montano stayed with the Soldier through interactions with the Battalion Chaplain and evaluation by medical personnel. His knowledge of Soldiers and presence was essential in ensuring the safety of the Soldier and is in accordance with Supreme Allied Commander Europe's priority of People.




SGT Wahl took the initiative in the 1-126 CAV Suicide Prevention Training Program, not only by being the primary instructor for the class, which is a task above his current rank, but also by maintaining accurate up to date records of individuals who had attended the training. This information was diligently communicated to all of the Troops Commands of the 1-126 CAV to ensure a 100% completion of the Suicide Awareness training in a timely manner despite the heavy mission schedule.
