Drinking On Duty Counseling

1. You knowingly violated General Order 1 (GO1) by consuming alcohol during an active mission and possessing alcohol in your hotel room. GO1 was briefed to you directly by your Section Sergeant, and there is no valid excuse for ignoring a lawful order.

2. When the Company Commander questioned you, you intentionally lied, claiming you had only two drinks when you had four. You made a deliberate decision to withhold the truth from the highest level of leadership in the company.

3. When confronted by NCOs, you attempted to avoid responsibility by stating you were unaware of GO1. This was a false statement, and you knew it. Attempting to mislead your NCOs shows a serious lack of integrity and maturity.

4. Violating GO1 compromises the mission, damages unit readiness, and puts unnecessary risk on your team. Combined with dishonesty, this behavior shows that you cannot currently be trusted with tasks requiring responsibility or independence.

5. This incident has caused your leadership to question your reliability, judgment, and ability to follow orders without supervision. Regaining that trust will require consistent corrective behavior on your part.
