You are being counseled because you have been enrolled in military education to progress in your career. Schools are a privilege offered to Soldiers who have demonstrated the necessary skills and have earned the right to attend them. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES ARE:
1. Maintain and monitor your e-mail for notifications about any course information and requirements to include Welcome Letter, Letter of Instruction, packing lists, any checklists, and uniform guidance. This information is typically sent out 30 days prior to the report date. If you do not receive this information within 30 days, contact your leadership and the Full Time Staff (FTS) to assist you in getting this information from the school house. Initials:______
2. Coordinate with the FTS to assist you in meeting all requirements to include orders, AFT, HtWR, DTS and any other requirements for your school. Any USARC scheduled schools will send orders from USARC; the unit will not issue these orders. Coordinate with FTS to contact USARC POCs to obtain orders more than 30 days out. Initials:______
3. Complete any Distance Learning (DL) portions of this course 30 days prior to the start date of the resident phase and notify your leadership immediately when you complete it. If you do not have access to a computer, you will immediately notify your leadership to get assistance in getting your DL completed on a computer at the unit. Initials:______
4. Keep your leadership informed of any difficulties you encounter while completing any segment of the training or of any complications that may prevent you from attending the course and completing it successfully. Initials:______
5. If required for the course, successfully complete a Diagnostic AFT no less than 30 days up to 90 days prior to starting the residence phase of this training and meet any height/weight limitations. If you fail the AFT 90 days out, you will have time to get yourself to passing standards for the 30 day test. Initials:______
6. Successfully complete all segments of the training and notify your leadership and the FTS immediately if for any reason you fail to complete any component. Initials:______
7. Coordinate with your employer for appropriate time away to complete the full time training component. Initials:______
8. Ensure your DTS Authorization for travel is complete after you get your welcome letter for school and no less than 14 days prior to travel. Monitor your email for notifications, to include SPAM folders. If a government travel card is used to cover any of your expenses while traveling, you will not use it for unauthorized purchases and will ensure that your DTS Voucher is completed promptly and correctly to allow split disbursements to cover authorized charges. Coordinate with FTS if you need assistance with your Authorization or Voucher in DTS. Initials:______
9. If required, complete Army 365 access requirements to include the Baseline System Authorization Access Request (SAAR) through the ICAM website on-line. You will need to complete the IT User Agreement on the same site and you will need to complete the Cyber Awareness Challenge on-line through ATIS. Coordinate with FTS for guidance. After the SAAR is approved, call the Help Desk at 1-866-335-ARMY to complete your access. Initials:______
10. If the ASU or AGSU is required for any portion of the course, ensure that your uniform is up to date to include awards and rank. If you do not have either uniform, or you have not been issued a uniform, or are missing items, coordinate with the FTS to get a uniform ordered. If you cannot get these tasks completed in time, coordinate with the FTS to get a memo signed by the company commander for a uniform waiver. This is the last resort. You will make sure your uniform is to standard and your leadership will inspect it. Initials:______
11. If a course specific packing list is required, you and your leadership will lay out and identify all your required items according to the packing list. If you fall short on any items, coordinate with the Supply NCO to fulfill those shortages. This task will be completed as soon as you get the packing list. You and your leadership can coordinate with the FTS to acquire the packing list from the school house outside the 30 day window. Initials:______
12. For courses that are strictly Distance Learning (DL), ensure you have TEAMS (Army 365) access and that you are enrolled in the correct course on the correct platform (ATIS). Initials:______
13. If you fail the course for any reason (Academic, PT, or failure to achieve standards) you will notify your leadership and FTS IMMEDIATELY. You will then follow the cadre instructions on arranging your travel home. Ensure the cadre/instructor signs your orders for the date that you were released from the course. Upon arrival to your HOR, complete your DTS Voucher. Initials:______
14. Upon course completion, ensure your orders are filled out correctly and are signed and certified by an instructor prior to departure from your course. After being signed, send orders to the ARA and FTS so they can be processed for pay. Ensure your DTS voucher is completed within five days after return. If you were in an Additional Skill Identifier (ASI) course, you might have to submit a Personnel Action Request (PAR) in IPPS-A to get the ASI code on your records. Coordinate with the ARA for this action. Initials:______
