Duty Descriptions

Assistant Launcher Section Chief
Serves as an Assistant Launcher Section Chief for a Patriot Air Defense battery with a contingency mission for European Command (EUCOM) area of operations; responsible for the training, discipline, health and welfare, and morale of 4 Soldiers and their Families; responsible for the employment, maintenance, accountability, and effective utilization of all Launcher Platoon's assigned vehicles and equipment valued over $3,000,000.


Launcher Section Chief
Serves as an Launcher Section Chief for a Patriot Air Defense Artillery (ADA) battalion organic to the 69th ADA BDE with a worldwide contingency mission in support of 32nd Air and Missile Defense Command (AAAMDC); responsible for the training, professional development, and morale and welfare of seven Soldiers and their families; supervises and trains launcher crewmembers in order to provide Air and Missile Defense for geopolitical assets worldwide; responsible for the maintenance and accountability of two Launcher Station and conventional equipment valued in excess of $4,000,000.






MOS 14T - Patriot Launching Station Enhanced Operator/Maintainer

Major duties. Serves in an Air Defense unit or as a member of an Air Defense activity engaged in operations or intelligence functions; performs system emplacement, initialization, operation, and maintenance; maintains technical references and performs technical inspections; performs adjustments, and removes and replaces Battery Replaceable Units (BRUs), Line Replaceable Units (LRUs), and perfoms other tasks authorized in the maintenance allocation chart (MAC); performs preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS) to sustain the Patriot Launching Station (LS), Enhanced Launcher Electronic System (ELES), Patriot guided Missile Round, and associated equipment in fully mission capable condition; performs Battle Damage Assessment Repair (BDAR); performs system deployment and missile resupply/reload functions. Major duties for MOS 14T at each level of skill are:

MOSC 14T1O. Performs march-order and emplacement of Patriot Launching Station (LS) and associated equipment; initializes, operates and performs organizational level system maintenance and PMCS on the LS, Enhanced Launcher Electronic System (ELES), and associated equipment; operates and performs organizational level maintenance and PMCS on Launching Test Set (LSTS) and Patriot Missile Round; operates and performs PMCS on Patriot Prime Movers and Prime Power Units; performs missile resupply and reload functions; performs operations and intelligence duties; establishes and maintains radio and wire communications.

MOSC 14T2O. Performs duties in preceding skill levels; supervises and provides technical guidance to subordinate soldiers; supervises organizational level maintenance and PMCS on Patriot Launching Station (LS), Enhanced Launcher Electronic System (ELES), Launching Test Set (LSTS), and Patriot Missile Round.

MOSC 14T3O. Perform duties in preceding skill levels; supervises the operations and organizational level system maintenance on the Patriot Launching Station (LS), Enhanced Launcher Electronic System (ELES), Launching Test Set (LSTS), Patriot Missile Round, and associated equipment; enforces safety procedures and standards; supervises and participates in unit level training and training management; performs operations and intelligence duties and serves as unit liaison; supervises operation of tactical communications.

MOSC 14T4O. Performs duties in preceding skill levels and monitors installation, operations, and organizational level maintenance on the Patriot Launching Station (LS) Platoon equipment; provides technical training and guidance to subordinate personnel; directs, instructs and evaluates tactical operating procedures; supervises operations and intelligence functions; trains, evaluates and certifies Patriot LS Crews in AD table training crew drills at unit and battalion level; ensures accuracy of maintenance records and adequacy of demand supported and diagnostic repair parts stockage procedures; assists in developing and implementing the unit maintenance program.
