68P30 Radiology Assistant NCOIC
Serves as Radiology Assistant NCOIC; Accounts for the maintenance and tracking of radiological equipment medical maintenance repair tickets; serves as radiology supply NCO tracks and updates radiology inventory to ensure radiology mission capabilities; performs MOS-specific duties in all skill levels; establishes work priorities and delegates tasks accordingly; works with NCOIC to review department compliance with JCAHO standards.
68P20 Squad Leader
Serves as a Squad Leader in a Brigade Support Medical Company in the XXX Brigade Combat Team, XX Division (Air Assault) charged with a world-wide rapid deployment mission providing Echelon I and II Combat Health Service Support; assists with reading and interpreting radio graphics; performs radio graphic examination; responsible for the health, welfare, morale, and combat readiness of two Soldiers; supervises the daily maintenance and readiness of two tactical military vehicles, the accountability, maintenance and mission readiness of two medical equipment sets valued in excess of $400,000.
68P40 Senior Radiology NCO
Accounts for fixed and portable radiology equipment; supervises radiology department; performs MOS-specific duties in all skill levels; establishes work priorities and delegates tasks accordingly; reviews, consolidates, and prepares technical, personnel, and administrative reports; coordinates site preparation for installation of radiographic equipment; assists in personnel matters, supply economy procedures and fiscal matters; prepares manpower survey reports; reviews operations to ensure compliance with JCAHO standards.
MOS 68P - Radiology Specialist
Major Duties. The radiology specialist operates fixed and portable radiology equipment or supervises radiology activities. MOS 68P personnel require good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity, no aversion to the sight of blood, and able to stand for long periods of time.
MOSC 68P10. Operates fixed and portable radiology equipment; reads and interprets radiographic requests and physician's orders; provides patient care within the radiology area; prepares, assembles and adjusts instruments, materials, and equipment; performs radiographic examinations of the upper and lower extremities, vertebral column, trunk, and skull; performs soft tissue radiographic examinations and bone surveys; performs body section radiography, foreign body localization, prenatal, pediatric, urogenital, and radiographic examinations of the digestive, respiratory, vascular and nervous systems; develops radiographic image using digital and manual processing; applies radiation, electrical, and mechanical protective measures; utilizes hospital information systems and performs routine patient administration; maintains patient locator file, radiographic files, and report files; inspects and performs operator maintenance on radiology equipment; packs, unpacks, loads, and unloads radiology equipment; assembles and disassembles radiology equipment and shelters.
MOSC 68P20. Operates fixed and portable radiology equipment; performs duties shown in preceding level of skill and provides technical guidance to lower grade personnel in the accomplishment of their duties; disseminates radiographic reports; assembles radiographs for reading; performs body section, prenatal, and pediatric radiographic procedures; performs follow-up radiographic examinations of the digestive, urogenital, respiratory, vascular, and nervous systems; assists with special radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures; requisitions and maintains necessary levels of radiographic and medical supplies; evaluates radiographic personnel performance; supervises packing, loading, unpacking, assembly and disassembly of radiology equipment and shelters.
MOSC 68P30. Performs complex or specialized radiographic procedures to include duties shown in preceding level of skill or activities at medium-sized radiology activity; inspects radiology activities for compliance with radiation safety procedures and to ensure an orderly and clean environment for patients and initiates corrective action; organizes work schedules; assigns duties and instructs personnel in technical procedures; supervises operator maintenance on equipment; prepares and updates unit and section SOP; prepares and conducts radiology training programs; assists in quality assurance program; coordinates radiographic examinations of patients.
MOSC 68P40. Supervises large-sized radiology activity; performs duties shown in preceding level of skill; establishes work priorities and distributes workload; reviews, consolidates, and prepares technical, personnel, and administrative reports; coordinates and prepares sites for installation of radiographic equipment; manages personnel affairs, supply economy procedures, and fiscal matters; prepares manpower survey reports; prepares the operating budget for Department of Radiology; reviews operations to ensure compliance with Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO) standards.
MOSC 68P50. Supervises radiology activity in MEDCEN, large MEDDAC, or Combat Support Hospital (CSH); performs duties shown in preceding level of skill; instructs on the procedures for developing and conducting training of military and civilian radiographic technicians; monitors the use of, requirement for, and maintenance and management of resources.
