Node Operator

o deployed to Africa with 3rd Group and provided support for two SDN Mediums and one SDN light

o configured COMSEC and provided services for UVDS which allowed the real time monitoring of three UAS missions in Africa

o trained ODA members on FDMA basics and on troubleshooting and operation of the SDN Light and SDN Medium


JNN Operator/Maintainer

o fixed and operated 5-25 battalion's Upper Tactical Internet for the duration of the Brigade Command Post Exercise; restored vital communications

o restored corrupted vms and NIPR and SIPR; fixed issue of SIPR router stuck in a boot up loop; sustained secure communications

o worked with the hub to troubleshoot and fix issues with SIPR call manager and dhcp voice pool within SIPR router allowing SIPR voice to work properly

o managed a highly complex network; demonstrated outstanding troubleshooting skills; resolved all 656 Signal Co. comm issues within first day of arrival

o cross-trained the Platoon on the troubleshooting procedures in the Joint Network Node; ensured the reliability of the DIV C4I architecture

o set up and initiated communication network for the deployed 214th MP BN; provided around-the-clock, reliable comm

o worked countless hours above and beyond his normal drill requirements prior to AT to configure and troubleshoot issues within the JNN and STT systems; established SIPR communication for the brigade in record time

o maintained generator for JNN Shelter and all NIPR/SIPR computers and phones; zero power failures or loss of comm

o served as Operator-Maintainer in the Unit Hub Node (UHN) during OEF; provided service to more than 130 comm terminals across Regional Command South AOO

o provided reliable connectivity to more than 130 terminals throughout Regional Command South area of operations; enabled UHN 6703 to maintain a 98% efficiency rating

o assisted the Brigade and 489th MEB in setting up, operating and maintaining the JNN, STT, CPN, and CPOF operations

o maintained the gator, spares kit for the JNN shelter and the ECU units with zero failures due to lack of supplies

o inventoried sensitive items daily and submitted report; maintained 100% accountability

o authored equipment-specific SOPs for all unit comm equipment to prevent future failures and include lessons learned from previous exercises

o fulfilled BDOC requirement as OP5 Tower Guard for over 300 hours, received CAB for the attack of assigned tower

o voluntered to serve as certified mail handler for FOB Salerno and FOB Lightning in spare time

o came in second during 12K Mountain Run on FOB Thunder, excellent example to subordinates

o exercised all facets of CPOF through both NIPR and SIPR during 2015 Annual Training at Wendover
