S-4 DUTY DESCRIPTIONS

Assistant S4
Assists in managing the property accountability and coordinating the supply activity of five troops; manages the squadron's use of the Government Purchase Card between seven cardholders; oversees the squadron's use and collection of informal funds and MWR funds; aids the administration of the unit's yearly fiscal budget in accordance with the brigade's spending plan; plans and synchronizes the logistical enterprise of supporting the troops' sustainment requirements in a tactical environment during reconnaissance and security operations.




S4 NCOIC
Serves as the Senior Supply Sergeant (S4 NCOIC); responsible for supply chain management; supervises and manages the supply sergeants within the squadron at the HHT and troop level; oversees the property transactions of all subordinate echelons and ensures proper documentation of all transactions within GCSS-Army and with the Property Book Officer (PBO); assists the squadron S-4 in advising the command in all logistical matters; conducts Staff Assistance Visits to support subordinate troops' Command Supply Discipline Program (CSDP), along with other logistics support functions as directed; conducts other tasks as directed by the S-4, Squadron Executive Officer, or Squadron Commander.




S-4 Maintenance Management NCO
Serves as the S-4 Maintenance Management NCO in a highly deployable Area Support Group, providing all aspects of maintenance and logistical support for four Battalions and nine companies; responsible for the health, welfare, and training of one soldier; responsible for processing and monitoring Financial Liability of Investigation Property Loss (FLIP), Government Travel and IMPACT VISA credit cards, and all local purchases; conducts Command Inspections in areas of Environmental Compliance.




Detachment First Sergeant
Serves as Detachment First Sergeant for a remote site supported by the 614th Base Support Battalion; responsible for providing base operations support to 13 tenant units on a 500 acre installation serving a population of over 1,000 DA civilians, contractors, local nationals, and assigned Army and Air Force military personnel; responsible for coordinating billeting and logistical support for various USAREUR and host nation organizations; responsible for property valued at more than $300 million.




Senior Logistics Advisor
Serves as S4 and Senior Logistics Advisor for an Iraqi Assistance Group Border Transition Team (BTT); provides broad logistical guidance and support for the transition of the Customs Security Battalion, Customs Police, Customs Inspectors, Passport Offices, and POE Directorate NCOs and Officers on the Zurbatiya Port of Entry; trains Iraqi Logistics personnel at battalion, company and platoon level; assists Iraqi Security Forces in planning and sustaining border security operations in a counter-insurgency environment; serves as a conduit for coalition logistical support to the BTT and Iraqi POE Staff; assists with the integration of the IBP with other Iraqi Security Forces; serves as the BTT supply and movement officer and Field Ordering Officer; accountable for over $1M worth of equipment.


Farah City, Afghanistan


Logistics Advisor
Multifunctional Logistics Advisor for the Army's first and only Iraqi Border Police (IBP) Brigade Border Transition Team (BTT); serves as advisor and trainer to the Iraqi Brigade S4; responsible for developing and implementing the Iraqi Border Police Brigade's first Command Supply Discipline and Maintenance programs; coordinates with higher Iraqi headquarters and recommends changes to improve efficiency; monitors support provided in all supply classes to the IBP; serves as Property Book Officer responsible for the receipt, storage, issue and maintenance of over 125 military and civilian vehicles, tons of arms and ammunition and other equipment valued in excess of $2,000,000.




Brigade Supply Sergeant
Serves as Brigade Supply Sergeant and Logistics NCOIC for the US Army's Iraqi Border Police (IBP) Brigade Border Transition Team (BTT); advises and trains the Iraqi Brigade Supply NCO and staff on critical supply issues; develops and implements the IBP Brigade's Command Supply Discipline Program; responsible for the receipt, storage, and issue of all IBP equipment (both military and civilian) valued in excess of $5.5M; serves as BTT Supply Sergeant for all internal team equipment valued in excess of $300K.




Brigade Motor Sergeant/Logistics NCO
Serves as Brigade Motor Sergeant and Logistics NCO for the US Army's Iraqi Border Police (IBP) Brigade Border Transition Team (BTT); serves as mentor, advisor, and trainer to the Iraqi Brigade Maintenance Officer; responsible for developing and implementing the Brigade's maintenance program; responsible for the IBP's maintenance, receipt, and issue of over 70 military and civilian vehicles valued in excess of $2M; serves as BTT Motor Sergeant for all internal team equipment valued in excess of $300K.
